MARY LOWRY: A widow and mother of three boys. He husband Martin, passed away from cancer in 2007. She began what she described as a ‘sleazy, sordid affair’ with Pat Quirke the following year. He advised her on how to run the farm and they met for sex twice a week. In 2010, she ended the affair and started going out with Bobby Ryan. Finally, she testified, her luck had changed. Ms Lowry previously told the court that she complained to Gardaí over Bobby Ryan ‘missing person’ posters that had been put up around her home – saying she found them intimidating and they were upsetting for her children, who were fond of Mr Ryan.
