Nor­we­gian to open new pi­lot base in Dublin

Nor­we­gian Air is hir­ing 40 pi­lots to fly from a new base it is plan­ning to open in Dublin Air­port later this year.

The air­line, which launched ser­vices from Ire­land to the north east­ern US this sum­mer, says that it plans to open a base in Dublin to sup­port cur­rent routes and fur­ther in­ter­na­tional ex­pan­sion.

“The base will ini­tially in­clude ap­prox­i­mately 40 pi­lots but Nor­we­gian is also ex­plor­ing op­tions for fur­ther pi­lot and cabin crew po­si­tions at the base next sum­mer,” the car­rier said yes­ter­day.

Nor­we­gian will be­gin re­cruit­ing pi­lots who hold Boe­ing 737 op­er­a­tional cer­tifi­cates with a road­show for in­ter­ested can­di­dates at the Clay­ton Ho­tel in Dublin Air­port. It plans fur­ther such events next month and in Novem­ber.
