Tesco Mobile Ireland has renewed a deal with BT to enable it to provide international calls to its customers.

The contract, which is worth in excess of €10 million, allows allow BT Ireland to process Tesco Mobile voice calls all over the world.

Tesco Mobile was launched in October 2007. The virtual mobile operator now has 7.7 per cent market share in Ireland. It reported a €172,000 loss last year as it grew its customer base by 6.3 per cent. “This deal is a culmination of our successful relationship built with BT over the last 10 years. BT provide a resilient network solution and excellent service and we look forward to continuing to work with them into the future,” said Geoff Byrne, chief operating officer Tesco Ireland.
