Ruby Lane Fine Art, Upper Denmark St, Limerick Until Jan 31 061-446699 Ruby Lane is a new gallery on Upper Denmark St in Limerick. Although its doors have been open for a while (with a very good show of drawings by Kieran Carey), it launches officially tomorrow evening with a range of work by artists who will feature there in time to come. As it happens, there are many fine artists working in and around Limerick and a new gallery is a suitable addition to the city’s cultural landscape. It is suitably sited, as well, adjacent to Limerick Printmakers on Robert St (which has recently received a well-deserved injection of funding from the Arts Council), close to the enterprising Daghdha Dance Company on St John’s Square and to the lively Milk Market, where a large proportion of the artistic community is to be found on Saturday mornings drinking coffee at Mari’s Cheese Shop. In Ruby Lane, you’ll find outstanding work by Allyson Keehan, Maurice Foley (whose Box of Rain is pictured), Gavin Hogg, Charles Harper, Tom Fox, David Lilburn, Jack Donovan, Barrie Cooke, Nick Miller, Maighread Tobin and many more.
