TRINITY BALL Trinity College Dublin Fri 10pm ¤76 (sold out)

The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - Listings - TONY CLAYTON-LEA

Hands aloft, legs akimbo, easy on the tequila and don’t spare the horses – this year’s Trinity Ball is the fastest-selling in the history of the event. Whether tickets fly off the system because of the bands playing or just because it’s – hey! – the Trinity Ball is a moot point. Certainly, this year’s bill is a cracker, with the likes of Ash (making an early appearance in 2007 and bound to be playing songs from their next album, Twilight of the Innocents), The Flaws (currently in the studio aiming for a September debut album release), CSS (pictured below), Director, The Immediate and Channel One. Whether the student body elect will appreciate such music at 4.30 in the morning, drunk on the prose of Proust and the poetry of Plath if nothing else, is another matter altogether. We predict not a riot but a collective headache.
