He has also di­rected plays for Red Ket­tle, the Abbey and the Project, and is a fine ac­tor-in­ter­preter of his own work. He cur­rently lives in Ca­van, where he was for a time writer-in-res­i­dence for Ramor Theatre, which ap­plied to the Arts Coun­cil for fund­ing to com­mis­sion and pro­duce his new play, The Tin­ker’s Curse. Lo­cal Livin’ Dred com­pany is stag­ing it un­til to­mor­row in Ramor, from which they will bring it on an ex­ten­sive tour to re­gional venues. The play is about the world of the Trav­ellers, rooted in myth and su­per­sti­tion, and its power over or­di­nary lives. The ex­cel­lent cast in­cludes Mary McEvoy, Andrew Ben­nett and Aaron Mon­aghan, di­rected by Padraic McIn­tyre.
