TickeT gig of The week

The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - News -

The rain (mostly) stayed away, some of the hippest, hottest, strangest and coolest acts and sideshows in the world turned up, as did multitudes of happy, bibulous campers. The line-up ran the full gamut; from behemoths and A-listers such as Iggy Pop, Björk, Beastie Boys and Erasure to hungry whipper-snappers whose time is nigh (take a bow !!! – or Chk Chk Chk, if you like to spell with letters – and Ratatat). Food was abundant and varied, if exorbitantly priced, and the Body and Soul area – the hub to the Picnic’s wheel – really did wonders. Too much to recount, really, in so short a space. You just have to have been there. John Lane. Photographs: Kate Geraghty

Polyphonic Spree, MIA and Britpop survivor Jarvis Cocker were among the acts that wowed the crowds at last weekend’s Electric Picnic
