DANCE AT THE DUBLIN FRINGE FESTIVAL 1850-374643 www.fringefest.com Luckily we have the Fringe Festival to remedy the woeful under-representation of dance on the arts festival circuit. You’ll find a really rich and edgy selection of dance productions here. Apart from four triple bills featuring Irish and international companies, award-winning Russian company Derevo returns with Ketzal (above), another stunning, dreamlike production; and Norwegian company Jo Strømgren, which won the Sexiest Show Award at the Fringe in 2005, comes back with a new show, The Convent. Brazilian choreographer Lia Rodriguez presents a visceral production, Incarnat, based on Susan Sontag’s essay The Pain of Others, that showcases violence and our reactions to it. And many other Irish companies and choreographers, such as Ríonach Ní Néill and junk ensemble, also feature. Who can make choices? Just see them all. CHRISTINE MADDEN
