Killing Moon – The Best of Echo and The Bunnymen Music Club Deluxe ★★★★ Demon Music Group claims to be the UK’s biggest independent record company, sourcing back catalogues from both major and indie labels, and releasing a slew of Best Of compilations by everyone from Altered Images to Nilsson to Prefab Sprout. Echo and The Bunnymen were U2’s black-hearted alter-egos, walking along the dark side with their raincoat collars pulled up. They released some of the moodiest, most magnificent music of the 1980s on such seminal albums as Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine and Ocean Rain. This comprehensive two-CD set contains nine Top 30 hits, including The Cutter, The Back of Love, Seven Seas and The Killing Moon, plus the band’s cover of The Doors’ People Are Strange. The band are playing the Royal Albert Hall next September, so here’s a chance to learn and sing the songs. www.bunnymen.com
