His re­turn to the orches­tra, for a short tour visit­ing Dublin, Lim­er­ick and Cork, sees him play­ing the com­poser’s other cello con­certo, the much-bet­ter known Con­certo in D, in an all-Haydn pro­gramme.

Mak­ing up what’s also an all-D-ma­jor pro­gramme are two Haydn sym­phonies, with Isserlis con­duct­ing the orches­tra in the lit­tle-known and early No. 13 as well as the ma­ture and fa­mous No. 104, the one nick­named the Lon­don.
