A big week for jazz fans

A busy week on the jazz and con­tem­po­rary im­pro­vised mu­sic scene – sev­eral noted vis­i­tors join lo­cal mu­si­cians while, at the same time, three tours are go­ing on more or less con­cur­rently. No­mad con­tin­ues its tour for Mu­sic Net­work; White Rocket, one of the most ad­ven­tur­ous groups to emerge here, is also tour­ing; the trio Ja­cob Wick, Greg Fel­ton and Seán Car­pio play Belfast tonight, be­fore mov­ing on to Cork, Dublin and Gal­way. Belfast drum­mer David Lyt­tle brings in US al­toist Greg Osby (above) to tour with him­self, Michael Buck­ley, Justin Car­roll and Ro­nan Guil­foyle. And fi­nally CLOG, with Seán Óg, Rob Casey and David Lacey will per­form with ac­claimed free im­pro­vis­ing reed­man Frank Gra­towski and Greek dancer Mar­guerite Pa­pa­zoglou in Dublin on Thurs­day.
