PEANUT BUTTER WOLF Crawdaddy, Dublin 8pm 117 0818-719300

Chris “Peanut Butter Wolf” Manak set up the Stones Throw label in 1996 and it has become the imprint to check when it comes to innovative and exciting new music. Along the way, the US west coast label has provided a home for fantastic releases from such singular talents as J Dilla, Madlib, Breakestra, Quasimoto, J Rocc, Aloe Blacc and Georgia Anne Muldrow.

Wolf himself had production form before kicking off the label, working with the late Charizma, overseeing the “Peanut Butter Breaks” series and contributing to the seminal Return of the DJ compilation. These days, he runs things at the label and DJs across Europe and the US. This Dublin show also stars new Stones Throw act James Pants, the fresh beat purveyor from Spokane, Washington whose debut album, Welcome, is due out soon, and local producer Kormac from the Scribble gang.
