The good weather (ha!) gets off to a fine start with this weekend festival. The organisers have pulled off something of a coup by getting in The Streets months before they play anywhere else in promotion of their forthcoming album (it’s also their first Irish performance since 2004); expect a greatest hits set, then, from Mike Skinner (above) and his gang. As well as The Streets (who are performing on a on a specially created outdoor site and stage at George’s Dock on Custom House Quay), the bill boasts an array of established and hot-to-trot acts (Hadoukin, Maps, Ting Tings, Future of the Left and The Raveonettes) and upand-coming Irish bands (Fight Like Apes, Cap Pas Cap and Boom Jackson). My goodness, a very good line-up for music fans – could this be a foretaste of things to come?
