Time to catch Crowley at Crawdaddy

The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - Listings -

ADRIAN CROWLEY Crawdaddy, Dublin Fri 8pm ¤17/¤14 01-4763374 It might seem as if Galway’s Adrian Crowley has drifted back into the serene obscurity that surrounded him prior to his Choice Music Prize nomination (for the quietly magisterial Long Distance Swimmer album) but this is not the case at all.

Crowley may not have an ego the size of Texas, but his songs continue to speak loudly: the singer-songwriter has a publishing deal with Domino, and looks set to release his debut single on the prestigious label shortly.

In the meantime, you’d be advised to catch the guy live in this rather intimate venue – it’s pretty much a perfect match for the songs, which lull you into such an blissful sense of personal security, you’re tempted to cancel your life insurance. TONY CLAYTON-LEA
