LIFE FESTIVAL Lough Cutra Castle, Gort, Co Galway Fri-Sun ¤150 The Irish love affair with summer festivals has been good news for the Neutronyx crew. They are back in Co Galway for their third bash, featuring one of the most diverse line-ups of the summer, with six music stages running from Friday afternoon right through to late on Sunday.

Neutronyx may usually be associated with trance and psytrance club nights, yet a line-up which includes Max Romeo (below), Coldcut, DJ Marky, Finley Quaye (long assumed to be missing in action), Alloy Mental, youthful dubstep don Skream, Jon Kennedy, and much more, shows that the organisers know they need to appeal to a wider audience.

Naturally, there will also be trancing, and high-quality trancing at that, thanks to the presence of Hallucinogen’s Simon Posford, but variety really is the spice of this Life. Only drawback? Jugglers, lots of jugglers, all probably wearing silly hats. Jim Carroll Can’T see ThaT? CaTch This

Rare appearance from Dopplereffekt (Saturday, Dublin), a Spirit reunion for a good cause (Friday, Dublin) and Mr Whippy goes travelling (Saturday, Cavan)
