Film treats at arts fes­ti­val

Over the past few years, the Ranelagh Arts Fes­ti­val, which be­gins on Mon­day, has helped liven up au­tumn in that leafy cor­ner of south Dublin. This time the or­gan­is­ers have, as ever, dreamed up a num­ber of di­vert­ing film events.

Next Thurs­day, nov­el­ist Pat McCabe and film-maker Neil Jor­dan, col­lab­o­ra­tors on The Butcher Boy and Break­fast on Pluto, will en­gage in a pub­lic con­ver­sa­tion at Sand­ford Park School. On Tues­day, Robert Dorn­heim’s re­cent film of Puc­cini’s La Bo­hème will screen at Ranelagh Art Shop. And our old friends 3epkano will ac­com­pany a screen­ing of the si­lent clas­sic Nos­fer­atu in Dart­mouth Square on Fri­day, Septem­ber 24th. There’s more be­sides. De­tails can be found at
