Highly re­garded post-rock in­stru­men­tal­ists And So I Watch You From Afar (right) have been cho­sen by RTÉ 2FM as the sta­tion’s pri­mary act for the Eurosonic, the Euro­pean in­dus­try fes­ti­val. Held ev­ery Jan­uary in Groni­gen, The Nether­lands, Eurosonic show­cases for up-and­com­ing bands and acts as a feeder to a num­ber of other Euro­pean fes­ti­vals.

Last year, Fight Like Apes won slots at six ma­jor fes­ti­vals af­ter tak­ing part in the Euro­pean Tal­ent Ex­change Pro­gramme. Sim­i­larly, UK band White Lies played at 15 fes­ti­vals af­ter winning over book­ers and pro­mot­ers.

Belfast quar­tet And So I Watch You From Afar will have their per­for­mance broad­cast live on 2FM on Jan­uary 15th. Gui­tarist Rory Fri­ers said that the band are “looking for­ward to bring­ing our noise to the con­ti­nent again.”

A num­ber of other (yet to be an­nounced) Ir­ish acts will also travel to Groni­gen for the fes­ti­val, which takes place from Jan­uary 14th to 16th.
