Jazz fans spoiled for choice

The fes­ti­val sea­son may be over, but jazz fans will be happy to hear that there are a cou­ple of events that may in­ter­est them over the com­ing days and weeks. The Gal­way Jazz Fes­ti­val kicked off yes­ter­day with a gig by the Trygve Seim Or­ches­tra, while a host of other jazz acts will play in the city this week­end, in­clud­ing UK group Po­lar Bear, who were nom­i­nated for the Mer­cury Mu­sic Prize in 2005. Also sched­uled to per­form are Re­becca Martin and Martin Gre­nadier, Métier, ad­mir­ers will be able to ex­plore the mu­si­cal spec­trum, from es­tab­lished in­ter­na­tional per­form­ers to the bright­est lo­cal tal­ent.”

There’s a Dublin-based jazz gath­er­ing planned for De­cem­ber 4th and 5th, too.
