Jonsi Bir­gis­son of Sigur Rós is to release an al­bum in March. The Ice­lander re­leased the al­bum Rice­boy Sleeps with his part­ner Alex this year, but Go will be his de­but solo proper. He also plans to tour it world­wide.

Kinks to be ironed:

Julien Tem­ple, who di­rected the fa­mous Sex Pis­tols mock­u­men­tary The Great Rock ’n' Roll Swindle is plan­ning a fea­ture film about The Kinks. You’ve Re­ally Got Me will fo­cus on the re­la­tion­ship be­tween Ray and Dave Davies, and is cur­rently in the plan­ning stages.

Marr movie magic:

Johnny Marr is to turn his hand to writ­ing film scores. The gui­tarist will com­pose the mu­sic to The Big Bang, a de­tec­tive film star­ring Snoop Dogg, An­to­nio Ban­deras and Sam El­liott, due for release next year.
