Remember that incident a few years back that saw Michael Bay claiming he was the long-lost son of John Frankenheimer? No? Well, trust me. It happened. Now, Michael Lyndsay-Hogg, English director of the TV series Brideshead Revisited, is to undergo a DNA test to establish if he is the only son of Orson Welles. Michael’s mother, Irish actor Geraldine Fitzgerald, certainly had an affair with Welles while she was married to Lindsay-Hogg’s father, but it has taken a book by Chris Welles Feder, Orson’s daughter, to bring the matter before the doctors. “My memory is that nobody knows for sure whether Orson was Michael’s father,” Welles Feder said.
