Cork Cine Club re­turns to life

“And there was great re­joic­ing” – to quote the Pythons – among cinephiles in Cork with the news that some three months on from the clo­sure of the Kino art­house cin­ema, a new cineclub is open­ing in the city, writes Barry Roche.

The newly formed Cork Cine Club will take up a res­i­dency in the Half Moon The­atre in the Cork Opera House from Fe­bru­ary 21st, con­tin­u­ing over the fol­low­ing 11 weeks (ex­clud­ing Easter Sun­day).

The sea­son kicks off with Jan Troell’s Ev­er­last­ing Mo­ments and closes on May 2nd with Michael Haneke’s 2009 Cannes Palme d’Or win­ner The White Rib­bon. www. half­moonthe­atre.ie, 021-4270022
