Cork Cine Club returns to life
“And there was great rejoicing” – to quote the Pythons – among cinephiles in Cork with the news that some three months on from the closure of the Kino arthouse cinema, a new cineclub is opening in the city, writes Barry Roche.
The newly formed Cork Cine Club will take up a residency in the Half Moon Theatre in the Cork Opera House from February 21st, continuing over the following 11 weeks (excluding Easter Sunday).
The season kicks off with Jan Troell’s Everlasting Moments and closes on May 2nd with Michael Haneke’s 2009 Cannes Palme d’Or winner The White Ribbon. www. halfmoontheatre.ie, 021-4270022
