Musical old town, musical old town
The first Music in the Historic Quarter festival begins in Dublin tomorrow, featuring a host of indoor and outdoor events around the oldest part of the city until September 1st.
Selected works by Irish composers will be performed daily from 1pm to 4pm in three locations: the Gutter Bookshop on Cow’s Lane, the Contemporary Music Centre on Fishamble Street, and the Civic Offices at Christchurch.
iPhone and Android apps will be available to point people in the direction of further performance locations.
There’ll also be a number of free and ticketed evening performances, including Anúna at the Back Loft, Dublin Guitar Quartet at City Hall, an open-air performance of Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Wood Quay, and Christ Church Cathedral Choir giving an evensong recital at the cathedral.
