Meryl set for Tory story

Is the UK Film Coun­cil us­ing its last mo­ments to take a dig at the Tories? It has been re­ported that one of the body’s last grants was made to a hos­tile biopic of Mrs Thatcher en­ti­tled, with no great imag­i­na­tion, The Iron Lady. Meryl Streep will play the for­mer prime min­is­ter and Phyl­l­ida Lloyd, the ac­tor’s di­rec­tor on Mamma Mia!, will be hold­ing the mega­phone.
