Captain Carroll baying for blood

The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - News - lmurphy @irish

If you’re not feeling too delicate tomorrow morning, tune in to Phantom FM’s arts and culture show at 11am (105.2FM, or online at phan to catch the fiercest on-air squabble this side of Liveline.

The Kiosk is hosting a quiz that will pit three members of Ireland’s finest entertainment supplement – that’d be The Ticket – against three of our journalistic peers from Day & Night, the Irish Independent’s supplement, in a battle of wits and pop-culture knowledge.

Myself and Sinéad Gleeson will be following our gallant captain Jim Carroll into the fray. On the opposing side, John Meagher will captain a team that includes Eamon Sweeney and Niall Byrne.

“Both teams will be putting their reputations on the line, so you can be guaranteed there’ll be drama,” said Kiosk host Nadine O’Regan.

To add to the drama, there’s an opportunity for a listener to win a ¤200 voucher for Eason by predicting the winner. Enter by tweeting @nadineoregan or emailing kiosk@phan by 11.30am tomorrow.

It isn’t The Ticket’s style to be cocky – but in the words of Captain Carroll: “We’re going to murder them. And then laugh. Out loud. And point our fingers at them. And laugh again.”

Day & Night: consider yourselves warned.
