Ewan in for a ghost of a chance

Ro­man Polan­ski’s The Ghost Writer (aka The Ghost) was the big win­ner at the Euro­pean Film Awards in Talinn last week­end. The adap­ta­tion of Robert Har­ris’s ro­man à clef won six ma­jor awards: best film, di­rec­tor, script, sound­track, pro­duc­tion de­sign and ac­tor.

Best ac­tor? Yes, Ewan McGre­gor did, in­deed, some­how man­age to grab the gong. Sylvie Tes­tud won best ac­tress for her per­for­mance in the in­sid­i­ous, im­pres­sive Lour­des. And the great Bruno Ganz picked up a de­served life­time achieve­ment award. See eu­ro­pean­fil­macademy.org
