Line-ups for the big two re­vealed

The line-ups for Ire­land’s two big­gest sum­mer mu­si­cal fes­ti­vals were an­nounced this week, with tick­ets for both now on sale.

The first names for Elec­tric Pic­nic (which were leaked on Wed­nes­day, one day ahead of sched­ule), which takes place from Septem­ber 2nd to 4th, in­clude Ar­cade Fire, whose 2005 ap­pear­ance has gone down in Ir­ish fes­ti­val lore. They’ll be joined by Pulp, Interpol, The Chem­i­cal Brothers, Mog­wai and Mid­lake. Other names on the ini­tial list in­clude PJ Harvey, DJ Shadow, Lykke Li, The Walk­men, Fly­ing Lo­tus, Health, Beirut, Caitlin Rose, OMD, Jimmy Cliff, White Lies, Big Au­dio Dy­na­mite, The Char­la­tans, Boyz Noize, Twin Shadow, The Go! Team, Willy Ma­son, Paul Kalk­bren­ner, Trentemøller, Killing Joke, Dave Clarke and O Em­peror. Early-bird tick­ets have al­ready sold out.

Mean­while Cold­play is the big­gest name headed for Ox­e­gen (July 8th-10th). The Strokes, The Na­tional, Dead­mau5, and Dublin trio The Script will also play, as will Bran­don Flow­ers, Beady Eye, Weezer, My Chem­i­cal Ro­mance, Pen­du­lum, Pri­mal Scream, Left­field, Noah and the Whale, Friendly

Fires, Imelda May, Jimmy Eat World, Jenny and Johnny, Tinie Tem­pah, Bright Eyes, Jessie J and Bruno Mars, among oth­ers.

Both fes­ti­vals are run­ning in­stal­ment pay­ment schemes for tick­ets this year, while one-day tick­ets for the Sun­day of Elec­tric Pic­nic are also avail­able.
