Dublin session for mu­sic academy

A work­shop for the Red Bull Mu­sic Academy is tak­ing place in Dublin next week­end. The pro­gramme, which has run an­nu­ally in dif­fer­ent cities around the world since 1998, of­fers up-and-com­ing mu­si­cians, pro­duc­ers, singers and DJs the chance to gain in­sight and ad­vice from top pro­fes­sion­als – many of them well-known artists – by fly­ing them to the host city for two fort­night-long terms and teach­ing them best prac­tice for their cho­sen roles.

Al­though the main event is tak­ing place in Tokyo this au­tumn, ses­sions are held in up to 50 par­tic­i­pat­ing coun­tries through­out the year.

The next Ir­ish one takes place in the Block T venue in Smith­field, Dublin, from 6pm on March.

Mu­si­cian David Kitt will talk about his song­writ­ing process, there’ll be a ex­hi­bi­tion by mu­sic pho­tog­ra­pher Brian Cross aka B+, and Olan O’Brien will dis­cuss his own ex­pe­ri­ence as founder of All City Records, as well as the fu­ture of in­die la­bels.
