Rockeroke and pop céilí at Fringe

The pro­gramme for this year’s Ab­so­lut Dublin Fringe Fes­ti­val (Septem­ber 10th-25th) has been an­nounced, and there are a num­ber of events that will ap­peal to mu­sic fans. Ice­landic band FM Belfast re­turn to the fes­ti­val on the 10th, a Pop Céilí and Rockeroke (rock karaoke with a full live band) event will be held on Septem­ber 17th, while the ac­claimed DJ Kor­mac will play on Septem­ber 24th.

The fes­ti­val will also host Switched On, a gig se­ries at the Work­man’s Club cu­rated by lo­cal left­field pro­moter Dar­ren McCreesh. David Kitt’s new­est pro­ject Spilly Walker will be joined by TR-ONE and Angko­rwat on Septem­ber 16th. On Septem­ber 23rd, Twinkranes head­line a night that in­cludes per­for­mances by Bruno Spo­erri, So­madrome and more, while the 24th hosts Pa­trick Wolf col­lab­o­ra­tor Ser­a­fina Steer, as well as Katie Kim and Lis­pec­tor. There are also a host of mu­si­cal events in­ter­twined with dance per­for­mances and plays – Bar­rocco sees dance in­ter­pre­ta­tions of the mu­sic of jazz mu­si­cian Dave Brubek, and the play Love Songs for Losers is based on karaoke per­for­mances. fringe­
