A clas­sic zom­bie gets cre­mated

Even the most ded­i­cated hor­ror fan might ad­mit that, when he or she heard that Bill Hinz­man had died on Mon­day, a de­gree of head­scratch­ing took place.

Mr Hinz­man played the first zom­bie view­ers en­counter in Ge­orge Romero’s sem­i­nal clas­sic Night of the Liv­ing Dead. Yes, he was the chap who lum­bers to­wards the un­for­tu­nate cou­ple in the grave­yard.

His daugh­ter, Heidi Hinz­man, a suc­cess­ful as­sis­tant di­rec­tor, ex­plained that he had been cre­mated and quipped: “He al­ways joked if he got buried he would come back.”
