Iron Man scales the Great Wall

It’s all about China these days. It has emerged that Iron Man 3 will be co-pro­duced by a Chi­nese com­pany and that much of the film will be shot there. DMG En­ter­tain­ment, based in Bei­jing, is to in­vest at least $100 mil­lion in Robert Downey Jr’s lat­est ad­ven­ture. It’s the first time that a ma­jor Hol­ly­wood fran­chise has sought sig­nif­i­cant fund­ing from the Peo­ple’s Repub­lic.

Rob St­ef­fens, gen­eral man­ager at Mar­vel, cre­ators of Iron Man, made with the soft soap. He said: “Adding a lo­cal flavour, and work­ing with our new lo­cal part­ner, will en­hance the ap­peal and rel­e­vance of our char­ac­ters in China’s fast-grow­ing film mar­ket­place.”
