Fringe is a cut above once again

The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - News -

The programme for this year’s Absolut Dublin Fringe Festival has been announced. The festival will take place in various venues around the city from September 8th-23rd.

As well as the huge number of theatre, comedy, dance and “unusual” events, a healthy music programme is included. Musical comedy duo Rubberbandits will play their first-ever outdoor gig in Dublin at Meeting House Square, while Danish indie-rockers Efterklang will return to Dublin with a special show, collaborating with the Magic Lift Orchestra at the same venue.

Kormac’s Big Band, an eclectic 11-piece orchestra who always go down well in a festival setting, will also play the square, while those of you who prefer to get their musical kicks safely between four walls may be interested in Flatpack –a new opera based around Ikea flatpack furniture and audience participation – which will run at the Ulysees Opera Theatre. fringefest.com
