THE BEAT

Formed in Birmingham, 1978, the original members presided over such class songs as Hands Off… She’s

Mine and Mirror in the

Bathroom. Such is the way of things, there are now two Beats – The Beat (UK) and The English Beat.

BAD MANNERS

Formed in London, 1976, at first lead singer Buster Blodvessel (aka Douglas Trendle) and co were viewed as the novelty end of the ska spectrum. Perhaps, but the band (Trendle is the sole surviving original member) still perform regularly.
