HumanRights Film Awards

The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - REEL NEWS -

As ever, we applaud the admirable folk who run the Irish Council for Civil Liberties Human Rights Film Awards. Applications are now open for the 2013 edition of Ireland’s only humanrights themed short film competition. The organisers ask for a film of no more than 12 minutes duration that focuses on a human rights issue “in, or relevant to, Ireland”. Live-action, animation, drama and documentary are all acceptable.

The ICCL have knocked together a hugely starry jury that includes such luminaries as David Norris, Rebecca Miller, Stephen Rea and Brenda Fricker. Application details and access to all previous short-listed films can be found at humanrightsfilmawards.org.
