TRACK OF THE WEEK: Change Your Life by Lit­tle Mix The new­est sin­gle from Per­rie and Co is in keep­ing with their gen­eral theme of self-be­lief and courage and all the rest of it. The lyrics echo TLC’s Un­pretty, in a vague way, and the hook of “change, change your life” will re­main in your head for longer than it ought to. It’s not as im­me­di­ately im­pact­ful as Wings or even DNA, but by the third lis­ten, you’ll be try­ing to copy Jesy’s soul­ful alto.

Mean­while, at the other end of the celebrity mum scale, Gwen Ste­fani found her­self ex­hausted this year. She told Marie Claire: “I would be up all night be­cause my sec­ond baby didn’t sleep, and he had a lot of ear in­fec­tions. Then I’d wake up in the morn­ing and do my work­out, which I al­ways felt I had to do, and then meet­ings for my three cloth­ing lines, and then hang out with my kids, take them to preschool - da, da, da.” In then end, it meant that she had to time the work­out. “I think my body just needed a break. And so I did that and fo­cused more on feel­ing good as op­posed to beat­ing my­self up.”

Pink sounds like the scari­est per­sonal trainer ever. Speak­ing about how she got her im­pres­sive stom­ach mus­cles back af­ter an emer­gency c-sec­tion, she ex­plained: “All the stuff I do is core­based work out. All the ac­ro­bat­ics, all the silks and stunts I do on tour mean I need to be strong. If you want sick abs you need to hang up­side down by your feet and do sit ups. You have to. And you can’t cut cor­ners.”

Not that she cared about that while she was preg­nant . “I used to eat en­tire buck­ets of chicken wings and once I ate an en­tire cheese­cake in one sit­ting. I’m ter­ri­ble when it comes to food. I’m the kind of girl who says she’s not go­ing to eat bread and then I eat an en­tire loaf.”
