Ailbhe Malone is bouncing back to Nicole’s new single

Boomerang by Nicole Scherzinger This track is exactly what we need to kick January out and usher February in. Imagine Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger, without the subtlety. Nicole’s here to let you know that can’t nothing bring her down, because she’s a “boomerang”. There’s a high-kicking dance routine, a “wahey-ey-ey” chorus and some tenuous metaphorical links to the titular boomerang. Jolly good fun.

Miley Cyrus has revealed the answer to the question she posed back in 2010: “Who owns my heart, is it love or is it art?” We can clarify that the response is “love”. Speaking to Cosmopolitan, Miley explained: “number one is my relationship with Liam. That’s what I feel the most confident in because you never know; there’s so much hype behind my new record, but it could come out and, worst-case scenario, everyone f***ing hates it.” Miley, when have we ever hated any of your records?

Shakira has named her first child with boyfriend Gerard Piqué. He’s a boy, and he’s called Milan Piqué Mebarak. No, not after the city, silly. Shakira says the name means “dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman [sic], eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification”. She also continues to be the most gracious popstar, ever – earlier this month she posted an “online baby shower” website, where fans can purchase gifts that will be distributed to poorer families around the world.

As ever, Justin Bieber has taken to Twitter to air his grievances. The teen star is tired of all the rumours surrounding him. He tweeted: “Some of the rumours about me are just so ridiculous u gotta laugh. people are creative. kinda over it. im a good guy. that’s all.” Biebz continued, “U know u can have fun without doing anything wrong. #goodfriends.” Was he speaking about his unconfirmed split with Selena? Is it on? Is it off? A little bit cryptic, we think. Less cryptic is the title for Bieber’s justreleased acoustic album Believe: Acoustic. We’ll leave you to write the joke for that one yourselves.

Biebz: he’s good enough
