The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - LISTINGS - JIM CARROLL

POGO Twisted Pepper, Dublin Tomorrow 10.30pm ¤20/¤18 01-8734800 And now for the return of German grandmaster DJ Hell. It’s been quite a few years since Helmut Geier (below) was in this ’hood to supply his bigroom techno and electro sounds to the sweaty masses.

The last decade was a mighty one for the International Deejay Gigolo main mover’s profile, as he enjoyed love from the fashionistas (one of the 50 Best Dressed Men in the world at one stage, per Vanity Fair, and a mainstay for years at Berlin Fashion Week). But Geier also made sure to keep a foot in the music camp. Teufelswerk (2009) was solid on that score, an album of well-dressed techno complete with starry assists from the likes of Bryan Ferry and P Diddy.

Also on tonight’s bill: wham-bang electro from drum’n’bass to straight-up techno from DMX Krew, aka Ed Upton; Barry Redsettaz and Louis Scully. Nialler9’ s night out at the Dirty Weekender (Fri, Cork); Kaboogie’s 7th birthday bash (Fri, Dublin); and Levon Vincent hits the wild west (Sat, Galway)
