As well as the Irish Baroque Orchestra and the National Chamber Choir of Ireland, several contemporary musicians have been signed up to a new residencies initiative, the Artist Writing Space Programme. Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy, Paul Noonan of Bell X1, James Vincent McMorrow, Cathy Davey and Glenn Keating of Jape and So- madrome will each be provided with space to work on their own material for the next year, as well as potentially with each other. McMorrow and Noonan have both recently completed their respective new albums, while Hannon releases the second Duckworth Lewis Method album this summer. “We’ve been looking for somewhere to set up as a writing space for a while now, and the idea of sharing the building with the orchestras and choral groups is all good,” said Noonan. nch.ie
