Hague joins praise for Jolie’s courage
Much praise has, quite appropriately, come the way of Angelina Jolie for announcing the news of her double mastectomy with such impressive dignity. Cancer charities and survivors have praised her article in the New York Times.
William Hague, the UK foreign secretary, who recently accompanied Jolie on a trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, also paid tribute. “She is a courageous lady and a very professional lady,” Hague said. “She gave no sign that she was undergoing such treatment and I think she’s a very brave lady, not only to carry on with her work so well during such treatment, but also to write about it now and talk about it.”
