For that pesky missing link between Spiritualized, Sparklehorse, Spaceman 3, Primal Scream, Jesus & Mary Chain and Mogwai, Edinburgh’s Delta Mainline might just be the band that joins the dots. Of course, the latter three outfits share sociocultural links with Delta Machine, so perhaps there’s something in the Scottish water that attracts like-minded souls. Whatever the reason, the members of Delta Mainline have not only learned from the best but have also adapted the results into a focused and seamless whole. Tracks such as Misinformation, The Church Is Up for Sale, Florentine Regime and Dark Energy directly echo the title of the band’s 2010 EP – In a World full of Madness, the Simple Joy of Melody Can Pull You Through. In other words, brace yourself: bliss this way comes. deltamainline.com
