The Jonas Brothers are back and Ailbhe Malone is ecstatic
TRACK OF THE WEEK:
What Love Is Made Of by Katy B Can we call this a jam? It is definitely a jam. A ravey jam. Like Marmalade with a glostick stuck in it. Poor analogies aside, it’s a slick effort from Katy. The hook of “I can stay like this for days/ looking at your beautiful face” slides into a sassy “let me know what love is made of”. There are synths, there’s a kind of echoey wind bit in the middle eight, and in the middle of it all is Katy B, knowing exactly what she wants.
I don’t think Taylor Swift would be into Katy’s new track though. She told Billboard: “I love that ballads became huge hits this year and that unexpected songs and artists got lots of airplay. Ed Sheeran, The Lumineers and Fun are some of my favourites right now, and they’ve all had big hits with songs that have substance and real instruments. I like it!” She continued, “I don’t like to feel like I’m in a club when I’m in my car and I turn on the radio. Anything that ceases to be a song and just sounds like house music kind of stresses me out.”
Rochelle Saturdays is preggo no longer! Saturbaby number 2 (lest you have forgotten Aoife Belle, born to Una Saturdays) has arrived healthy and happy. A girl, named Alaia-Mai Humes. Marvin tweeted: “This morning we welcomed our baby girl Alaia-Mai Humes. Mum is doing great & baby is amazing! We are both overjoyed! Thanks for your love x.” No pressure on Frankie Saturdays to choose an “A” name then. We know one very good name that begins with A, if she’s interested.
Look who’s back on the scene – the Jonas Brothers! And they’re taking some super-credible influences on board too. Kevin Jonas told Digital Spy: “Frank Ocean was an influence. There were so many people that influenced this next album, just more the direction and the tone. We took our time. We all did individual things for a very long time, and we needed to.” Does this mean no more Burning Up?
