(Mister Saturday Night) Mister Saturday Night continue to source music that sounds like New York from all over the world. Their latest signee is from Japan and he makes rough-edged house in what is becoming the classic MSN style. (Dekmantel) The New Jersey native’s unique brand of wonky not-house/not-techno has won him a lot of fans in recent years and his debut full-length is full of blissful hooks that pack surprisingly weighty punches. (Houndstooth) Wondrous, epic techno from the German producer on the Houndstooth label. So many layers, so much movement; it’s a wonder the whole thing doesn’t fall apart. (Murder Capital) Dark, distorted and distinctly fun electro from the Russian producer’s new album, which is 10 tracks of exactly that. To celebrate the Dublin producer’s new EP on Rush Hour’s No Label, he’s made us a rambling mix of some stuff that’s been tickling his fancy lately. Includes tracks from Russell Haswell, Phew, Byrne & Eno, Beatrice Dillon, Arthur Russell and more, as well as some of his own work for good measure.
