Ailbhe Malone has 99 problems – but Ariana ain’t one

The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - FILM -

TRACK OF THE WEEK: Problem by Ariana Grande Ring ring, ring ring. Hello? Mariah? Ariana’s coming for your crown. Fun, flirty and super sassy, Problem is about a bad boyfriend, and Ariana flutters her eyelashes and croons “I got one less problem with ya”. A guest verse from Iggy Azalea adds a nice hat-tip to Jay-Z, rapping “I got 99 problems, but you won’t be one”.

Lily Allen has been reflecting on her past squabbles to Q Magazine. She regrets trading blows with Cheryl Cole (you may remember her B-side Cheryl Tweedy which ran “Wish I looked just like Cheryl Tweedy/ I know I never will, I know I never will’). While Cheryl gave as good as she got at the time, the fight’s in the past. And Lily told Q: “I wish that whole thing hadn’t happened. I like Cheryl. She’s good on The X Factor, she’s pretty and she’s got balls. I like women who do well.”

Finally, proof that stars are just like us. Taylor Swift was preparing for the snazzy Met Ball gala, when disaster struck. “That moment when your cat casually walks up, then abruptly ATTACKS your custom satin Oscar de la Renta gown during your fitting for Met Ball,” Taylor tweeted. It’s a tough old life.

IIn other feud news, Ed Sheeran has laid into the Backstreet Boys for not playing enough hits in their live shows. “I study how other people perform and that is unacceptable, as the Backstreet Boys have so many hits. Do not do that ever again, that is not fair. I played the Royal Albert Hall and did two new songs, but I know that’s what people want. The Backstreet Boys, what are they doing? Play your hits,” Ed told the Sun. However, all’s well that ends well, as Ed subsequently tweeted the Backstreet Boys: “you know what, those things got taken way out of context, and blown out of proportion, I’m all for the set, it’s killer, love your work, and thanks for being so safe about me being a bit silly, see you soon”
