ART TWO EXHIBITIONS

Two substantial, outstanding and complementary shows demonstrate the capacity of the Taylor Galleries as a venue. On the ground floor, Mary Lohan’s Ocean finds the artist in sombre mood, contemplating the gorgeous but also slightly ominous expanse of the sea, sometimes through porthole circles (above). Upstairs is the second in a series, Lacuna, co-curated by Sabina MacMahon and David Quinn. With six exhibitors, there are no weak notes, but Neil Carroll and Cora Cummins really shine. Taylor Galleries, 16 Kildare Street, Dublin. Until May 31. taylorgalleries.ie
