DANCE DUBLIN DANCE FESTIVAL
Emma Martin Dance opens the festival with Tundra, a edgy blend of theatre, live music and dance exploring our darker selves (Samuel Beckett Theatre, Tuesday-Friday, May 23, 7.30pm). The 12-day festival brings world renowned London- based choreographer Russell Maliphant to the Abbey Theatre and Cypriot choreographer Alexis Vassilious to the Project Arts Centre with Please Be Gentle/Stay With Me. Local performers have also been cajoled to form fleeting live body sculptures in city-centre locations (May 24/25 at 1pm, 4pm). Children will be inspired by Gandini Juggling (above) in the Pavilion Theatre in Dún Laoghaire (May 22-24) and Compagnie Non Nova’s plastic bag performers in the Ark (May 22-25).
