The festival will host a busy array of workshops, screenings and talks over five days. As proof of the event’s increasing clout, Steve Coogan and Stephen Frears, creators of the wonderful Philomena, will attend a public discussion with Greg Dyke.

Currently chairman of both the Football Association and the British Film Institute, Greg has also been Director-General of the BBC.

A session on music in film will feature contributions from musician Maurice Seezer, playwright Jack Gold and living legend Jim Sheri- dan. Other guests include David Puttnam, Pat Collins and Carmel Winters.

And we haven’t even got around to the screenings. It’s a fabulous event that deserves pounding support. fastnetshortfilmfestival.com.
