Belfast tunes up for Mu­sic Week

Belfast is set to be­come the City of Mu­sic from Novem­ber 12th-16th, with the an­nounce­ment of a week-long pro­gramme of events un­der the ban­ner ‘Sound of Belfast’ co­or­di­nated by the Oh Yeah mu­sic or­gan­i­sa­tion.

The ex­ten­sive pro­gramme in­cludes the North­ern Ire­land Mu­sic Prize for al­bum of the year, won last year by Foy Vance (above) to be held at Man­dela Hall, an all-ages gig de­liv­ered by a teenage men­tor­ing pro­gramme, a song­writer’s work­shop with a well-known artist TBC, var­i­ous show­cases pro­mot­ing the city’s wealth of talent, and op­por­tu­ni­ties for bands and artists to min­gle with ex­pe­ri­enced in­dus­try pro­fes­sion­als from around the world.
