Fancy a nibble of Forbidden Fruit?
If you can’t gorge on Forbidden Fruit this weekend, a nibble of live music might suffice. Forbidden Fruit and the City, a series of free pop-up gigs, will take place in various venues around Dublin on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, including Heuston Station, HMV Grafton Street, the Gutter Bookshop in Temple Bar, the Hilton Hotel in Kilmainham and more.
Twenty Irish acts have been culled from last year’s Hard Working Class Heroes line-up, including Biggles Flys Again, The Crayon Set, The Pale, Skelokrats and The Vincents.
The main event takes place in the grounds of the Royal Hospital/IMMA in Kilmainham, with big-name acts including 2manydjs, The Flaming Lips, Flying Lotus’s 3D audio-visual show, Wild Beasts and Bell X1’s only Irish gig of the summer on offer. A complimentary shuttle bus will run from Harcourt Street to the festival site between 1pm and 7pm both days, while Flying Lotus will DJ at the aftershow party at the Button Factory. Entry to that is ¤12 and limited to ticket holders; full festival tickets are still available. forbiddenfruit.ie
