Fancy a nib­ble of For­bid­den Fruit?

If you can’t gorge on For­bid­den Fruit this weekend, a nib­ble of live mu­sic might suf­fice. For­bid­den Fruit and the City, a se­ries of free pop-up gigs, will take place in var­i­ous venues around Dublin on Satur­day and Sun­day af­ter­noon, in­clud­ing Heuston Sta­tion, HMV Grafton Street, the Gut­ter Book­shop in Tem­ple Bar, the Hil­ton Ho­tel in Kil­main­ham and more.

Twenty Ir­ish acts have been culled from last year’s Hard Work­ing Class He­roes line-up, in­clud­ing Big­gles Flys Again, The Crayon Set, The Pale, Skelokrats and The Vin­cents.

The main event takes place in the grounds of the Royal Hospi­tal/IMMA in Kil­main­ham, with big-name acts in­clud­ing 2manydjs, The Flam­ing Lips, Fly­ing Lo­tus’s 3D au­dio-vis­ual show, Wild Beasts and Bell X1’s only Ir­ish gig of the sum­mer on of­fer. A com­pli­men­tary shut­tle bus will run from Har­court Street to the fes­ti­val site be­tween 1pm and 7pm both days, while Fly­ing Lo­tus will DJ at the af­ter­show party at the But­ton Fac­tory.
