The Irish Times - Friday - The Ticket - - NEWS -

There is a little less than a month to go before the Galway Film Fleadh, one of the nation’s biggest arts bashes, kicks off. We have news. John Carney’s Begin Again, his delightful, long-awaited US follow-up to Once, is to open the event and Tom Collins’s Irish-language thriller An Brontannas will be the closing film.

Begin Again stars Keira Knightley as a woman moping about a gorgeous version of New York while recovering from a break-up. Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener and Mos Def are also on board. Collins, who gave us one of the best ever Irish-language features in Kings, sets his new film among a lifeboat crew working in Connemara. This year’s Fleadh runs from July 8th until July 13th.
