Gig­ging for the peo­ple of Gaza

A num­ber of char­ity gigs in aid of the peo­ple of Gaza are tak­ing place in Dublin over the com­ing weeks. Christy Moore will play a gig for the chil­dren of Gaza at Vicar Street on Oc­to­ber 12th, where he’ll be ac­com­pa­nied by De­clan Sin­nott.

A Gig for Gaza takes place at the Olympia The­atre on Sun­day, Septem­ber 21st, with Paul Brady, The Stun­ning, Frances Black, Don Baker and Big Septem­ber on the bill, with more to be added. Tick­ets for both gigs are on sale through Tick­et­mas­ter now.

This week, Play for Peace: A Gaza Cri­sis Ap­peal fea­tures Ir­ish acts Travis Oaks, Tara, Sive, Fauve and more at The Work­man’s Club on Sun­day; en­try is ¤10 on the door, while on Wed­nes­day A Gig for Gaza, in support of the Ir­ish Red Cross’s Gaza Cri­sis Ap­peal sees The Min­utes, Buf­falo Sunn, alt-folk group The Es­kies, jazz-folk­sters Mon­goose and Youth Mass play. To­day FM DJ Paul McLoone will MC, and tick­ets are ¤15 on the door.
