CLUB Hidden Agenda Opium Rooms, Dublin 11pm ¤12 hiddenagenda.ie The club runners mark three years in business with DJ sets from Mount Kimbie and Darkstar in their new home on Wexford Street. Between debut album Crooks & Lovers and last year’s Cold Spring Fault Less Youth, Mount Kimbie showed much progression in terms of their sound.

Now that they’ve manoeuvred from dubstep to warmer, live and organic sounds, it will be interesting to hear where Dominic Maker and Kai Campos head next.

In the case of Darkstar, last year’s News From Nowhere was full to the brim with freewheeling rich, evocative sounds. In terms of finetuning their superbly lush, memorable and effective songs, the band’s relocation from London to the west Yorkshire village of Slaithwaite, a move owing more to financial than creative reasons, can be deemed a huge success.
